02About the Role
At the heart of SattvaLok is an absolute dedication to textual fidelity and linguistic accuracy. Many modern digital platforms publish careless translations, distorted meanings, or context-free shlokas. As a Sanskrit & Shastra Researcher, you will be the guardian of textual integrity. You will analyze original Sanskrit texts, transliterate across scripts (Devanagari, IAST), provide word-by-word grammatical breakdowns (Padachheda, Anvaya), and craft elegant, nuanced translations anchored in traditional commentarial lineages (bhasyas).
03Responsibilities & What You'll Do
- →Translate and annotate classical Sanskrit texts across the Vedas, Upanishads, Bhagavad Gita, and major Darshana sutras.
- →Provide morphological and grammatical annotations (Vyakarana breakdown according to Paninian rules).
- →Verify scriptural quotations across all SattvaLok digital features, articles, and AI retrieval databases.
- →Reconcile commentarial nuances across Advaita, Vishishtadvaita, Dvaita, and other traditional schools.
- →Collaborate with our AI/RAG engineering team to structure multilingual Sanskrit-English ontologies and semantic metadata.
- →Curate authentic stotras, suktams, and mantras with precise Vedic svara accentuation notation.
04Qualifications & Experience
Required Qualifications
- ✓Advanced degree in Sanskrit (Acharya, MA, MPhil, or PhD) or traditional Gurukula shastric education.
- ✓Mastery of Paninian Sanskrit grammar (Ashtadhyayi / Siddhanta Kaumudi).
- ✓Exceptional capability in translating philosophical Sanskrit into lucid, elegant English.
- ✓Familiarity with IAST transliteration conventions and Unicode Devanagari typography.
- ✓High reverence for sacred texts paired with scholarly precision and intellectual objectivity.
Preferred / Nice-to-Have
- ★Experience with manuscriptology, epigraphy, or critical editions (Poona, Baroda, or Adyar libraries).
- ★Knowledge of Vedic chanting traditions and svara notation.
- ★Prior published translations or academic papers in reputed journals.
