02About the Role
At the core of SattvaLok lies an intricate, high-reliability backend ecosystem managing verified scriptures, astronomical Panchang calculations, user profiles, knowledge graphs, and AI orchestration pipelines. As a Backend Developer specializing in Kotlin and Spring Boot, you will engineer scalable microservices, optimize database schemas, build secure authentication systems, and ensure 99.9% uptime for global requests. You will design APIs that power our web apps, mobile clients, and third-party partner integrations with rock-solid reliability and sub-second latency.
03Responsibilities & What You'll Do
- →Design, implement, and maintain robust backend microservices using Kotlin, Spring Boot, and JVM ecosystems.
- →Architect clean, performant relational schemas in PostgreSQL and manage document/cache tiers with Redis.
- →Build high-throughput REST and GraphQL APIs with comprehensive documentation (OpenAPI / Swagger).
- →Optimize astronomical and algorithmic calculation engines (e.g., planetary coordinates, tithi timings, Kundali generation).
- →Implement secure authentication, authorization (OAuth2 / JWT), and rate-limiting protocols.
- →Integrate vector databases and AI microservices via asynchronous message brokers or event queues.
- →Write thorough unit and integration tests using JUnit 5, MockK, and Testcontainers.
04Qualifications & Experience
Required Qualifications
- ✓2+ years of professional backend software development experience with Kotlin or Java and Spring Boot.
- ✓Deep understanding of relational databases (PostgreSQL), index optimization, query tuning, and connection pooling.
- ✓Solid knowledge of object-oriented design principles, clean architecture, and RESTful API standards.
- ✓Experience containerizing services with Docker and deploying to cloud infrastructure.
- ✓Strong debugging and profiling skills within the JVM ecosystem.
Preferred / Nice-to-Have
- ★Experience with asynchronous programming, coroutines, or reactive systems (Spring WebFlux).
