02About the Role
Online discussions surrounding religion, philosophy, and history can easily attract sensationalism, sectarian disputes, or disrespectful conduct. SattvaLok is committed to maintaining a digital sanctuary where respectful inquiry, rigorous scholarship, and sincere devotion flourish. As a Community Moderator, you will enforce community guidelines, defuse escalating arguments, filter spam, and ensure that discourse remains elevating, dharmic, and constructive.
03Responsibilities & What You'll Do
- →Monitor forum threads, comment sections, and live event chat streams for guideline violations.
- →Proactively de-escalate sectarian or heated arguments, steering conversations back toward constructive dialogue.
- →Review flagged posts, issue gentle reminders or warnings, and apply temporary suspensions when necessary.
- →Identify and eradicate spam, unauthorized promotional links, hate speech, and bad-faith trolling.
- →Compile weekly community health reports highlighting common points of tension and positive member contributions.
04Qualifications & Experience
Required Qualifications
- ✓1+ years of demonstrable experience moderating forums, Discord servers, Reddit communities, or live webinar chats.
- ✓Deep emotional intelligence, calm temperament, and objective conflict-resolution skills.
- ✓Nuanced understanding of Indian cultural and religious sensitivities to distinguish sincere debate from malicious trolling.
- ✓Excellent written communication skills in English and Hindi.
Preferred / Nice-to-Have
- ★Familiarity with community moderation software and automated filtering tools.
- ★Basic understanding of Sanskrit terms, Sampradaya distinctions, and common pilgrimage customs.
- ★Availability for weekend or evening shift coverage.
